Aaaaaaaaand Time!

I know its been a week or two since the second round of Democratic Debates, but I'm finally feeling up to talking about it. Much like the last time I wrote on this topic, I want to focus on a specific issue I have with the debates. What is wrong with CNN and their damn time limit?
One of the most important things in government, especially a democratic one, is policy. It is important that the people chosen into office have comprehensive policy ideas on a host of topics that directly affect their constituents. It is even more important, however, that we the constituents ensure that we listen to and understand the policies candidates set forward. But CNN just didn't allow for that. Instead, they allowed fifteen seconds for responses. A measly FIFTEEN SECONDS for candidates to outline entire policies on issues as complicated as healthcare, immigration, border security, and gun control. It takes longer than fifteen seconds for Bernie Sanders to warm up his voice before he can start yelling like his kids forgot to do their chores.
On a serious note though, this is a joke. Fifteen seconds is not CNN encouraging a free debate of ideas that would allow the American people to make an educated decision regarding someone who might be their next president. Fifteen seconds is instead the perfect amount of time for CNN to catch a sound bite to play over and over again to drum up ratings and views. It's absolutely worthless journalism coming for a once reputable news organization.
We should without a doubt have these debates, that isn't the question at hand here. But these debates should be longer, with candidates given more time to convey thorough answers on policy, and the moderators should ask relevant questions which answers would potentially directly affect the American people. They shouldn't ask questions that lead candidates to attack one another. Come on CNN, get it together. Become a news organization again.

Spiderman 4: Into the Metaverse

At first, I thought I was going to write about Facebook doing a complete rebrand as a company and their transformation into "Meta". On Oct 28th, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company Facebook was more than just the platform Facebook and that the company name no longer encapsulated everything the company was trying to do. And just as  Google in 2015 had a restructure into parent company Alphabet, Facebook (the company) is now Meta. But as I did more research on what that entailed, I realized it's not really Facebook (from here on out Meta by the way) that I care about. Meta is just one small piece of this mess. Because, and call me cynical, I am one of the many who believe that Mark is just trying to move past all of the large pitfalls his company has recently encountered. I mean everything from large Instagram and Facebook outages to the recent whistleblower and the "Facebook Papers" cannot be good for the company name. I mean since really the beginnin...

Stoner Cats: The Cash Grab We All Should Have Expected

Yeah I'm talking about NFTs and crypto again. What of it? It annoys me. Although it is partially on me, since most of research now a days is crypto related so are a lot of my advertisements and suggested content. Anyway, onto the title of this blog. I suppose that, like a lot of these NFT "projects" we should go back to the beginning. This one is a doozy. Stoner Cats is an animated series revolving around six cats and their owner. Oh, and the cats are high on marijuana. That's it, that is the show. The project is consisted of multiple episodes (three as of the time I am writing) and claims it will go on for multiple seasons. On the Stoner Cats website , they say that the project was conceived sometime before 2020 and was later picked up by Orchard Farm Productions. The actual production of each episode is being done by Ghostbot Studios. They are a San Francisco based animation house that has worked on high profile projects in the past such as "Lost Treasure Hunt...

LOSE $$$ With This Easy Trick!!!

The world of NFTs is so dumb yet so entertaining as it allows regular folks like you and me to laugh at rich idiots who waste their money! The internet is great! Around December 15th, 2020 Jack Dorsey minted a new NFT comprised of his (and the site's) first ever tweet. For those unaware, Dorsey is a co-founder and former CEO of twitter and the current founder and CEO of Block, Inc. This NFT was minted with much hype at the time, but to say that the offers came pouring in would be a misinformed overstatement. Yes there was a lot of buzz, but funnily enough looking at the bid history only one offer came in that day for one dollar. The price eventually rose, with an offer put forward on March 6th for 2.5 million USD. 16 days later on March 22, that bid was worth 2.9 million USD and was subsequently sold to Sina Estavi. Estavi is currently the CEO of Bridge Oracle funnily enough was arrested in Iran following his purchase of the NFT for alleged "economic disruption". Estavi h...
