I know its been a week or two since the second round of Democratic Debates, but I'm finally feeling up to talking about it. Much like the last time I wrote on this topic, I want to focus on a specific issue I have with the debates. What is wrong with CNN and their damn time limit?           One of the most important things in government, especially a democratic one, is policy. It is important that the people chosen into office have comprehensive policy ideas on a host of topics that directly affect their constituents. It is even more important, however, that we the constituents ensure that we listen to and understand the policies candidates set forward. But CNN just didn't allow for that. Instead, they allowed fifteen seconds for responses. Well, I can't believe I'm talking about this. This shouldn't have to be a topic I riff on, especially with everything going on in the world right now. We have the Democratic Debate, the resignation of the governor of Puerto Rico, even more outbursts of racism from Donald Trump, and a whole number of other news stories from around the globe.           Man, music is honestly very wild. There are so many genres with a type of music for anyone and everyone, and yet people still got problems huh. Music is more complicated than on first glance. On the surface, its just something we as people like because it sounds good or gives a reason to move our body or do something productive. But it really is deeper than that isn't it? Music is reflective of a person and their thoughts and beliefs. The lyrics are the most obvious, as they may cause a person to relate to them or understand them on a personal level. But you can honestly go even further. The tome of the song, the speed, the notes, everything can reflect a persons subconscious mood, whether they want to reflect on their sadness or get hyped for a grueling workout.           One of my biggest pet peeves regarding music however is the phrase, "I don't like the song, it's too mainstream".           The Democratic Debates! We just saw the first two happen this past week and my oh my what a showing! I have a lot of thoughts on this upcoming presidential election as a whole so bear with me as I will have more posts on this topic. For now though, I want to focus on something very specific that I saw in the first debate, especially with Cory Booker and Beto O'Rourke. These two men are wonderful, and I do support their policies even though I would not vote for them in the primaries. However, they pulled something in the first debate that really got me mad. Both of them gave answers in Spanish to questions that in all honesty didn't warrant a second language.           I have heard arguments that this was a good move as it showed support for the Latinx community and diversity in general.           In 2020, we will obviously be seeing what is perhaps the biggest election of the free world to see who would be the next president of the United States. But we can not forget that along with that monumental decision, we also have to vote for senators across the country which will influence the make up of Congress. People sometimes forget that not all the power rests in the president's hands and that legislature has to go through Congress as well.           Now in the last Senate election, people may recall the "honorable" judge Roy Moore, the GOP candidate running for Senate in Alabama. He had beaten out Luther Strange in the Republican primaries only to lose the Senate seat to Democratic candidate Doug Jones.           I thought that for today, I would a write a small post about TV shows that i enjoy as well as some that I don't. I have to say that while I am a fan of a broad variety of shows, there is a trend in my viewing habits. I am of course capable of sitting down and immersing myself in a drama or a thriller, provided the acting is good and the dialogue makes sense and isn't too cringe inducing or cliche. In my opinion, a good drama doesn't have to have the strongest plot or even the best storytelling. I don't need the stakes to be that high, and I don't need there to be some big twist at every turn. The problems can be small and personalized, and the plot can go where I might expect. For me, a drama or thriller comes from the dialogue and acting. When I see actors trying instill some dramatic action  in their lines, but the best they can do is just yell the words to try and create tension, I really am let down.
